Which to choose

I have seen the reviews, fliped coins, heck even asked my gf that doesnt know anything about vid cards and still am undecided on which to get. One hand have the x800 xt that is faster in most games minus OpenGL stuff and will be in stores sooner. Other hand you have the 6800 ultra which has more features that might or might not be used, it is also a new core so driver updates will hopefully bring the speed up even more. Just asking opinions because about to dish out 500+ bux on a card and I want to be 100% sure I will be happy. If anyone can add points to one card or the other to pre order please do, but no flaming and no this one is better because it is from this company crap.

I say, if money is no option, I would get the X800 XT, but if money is an option then the 6800 GT looks really nice.

looks like your choice is made for you. There is no ultra except some crazy exotic watercooled stuff that wont be out till who knows when.

6800 GT or X800 XT.
The 6800 Ultra is pointless as the only difference is +50MHz compared to the GT which isn't worth anything near $100 (and if you really, /really/ want the highest clocked card, then get Gainward's water cooled beast instead).
But you still have a good month until the XT or GT is available, and probably for the Ultra as well (though two preorders have them listed to arrive on 5/17, so it may be sooner), so just wait and see.
(Personally all else being equal I prefer nVidia, but that's me, and not you.)

If you /really/ can't decide, choose based on color: green or red?

GET AN XBOX OR XBOX 2 LOL ....... im sick of updating my videocards every freakin time i want my games to work automaticly , without having to worry about the politics of updating my computer just to get one game to work =)
