Far as comparasions / graphs, look on AT under video guides ... find the newer of the articles about gF4 or R9xxx chipset, and there's gonna be charts.

Now that I won't be blamed for starting it, though, ATI drivers suck. 😀

And for 3D renders - I'd look for some OpenGL benchmarks. Where you will see nVidia 0wning ATI to an even greater degree. (Unless the game is Quake III, where ATI will drop detail and mipmap levels until you're playing at a stretched 320x240 to eek out an FPS mark ahead of them.)
