Do you mean Geforce2 or Geforce3?

The Gainward Geforce3 Ti200/450 I have runs perfectly at 240/500 (vs. "standard" 175/400) and it can surely still go higher, although I haven't bothered trying at this point.

I havent seen compelling evidence showing any brand being far and away the best. But I have seen some impressive overclocks with Leadtek,Visiontek and Gainwards. I've heard of some serious PNY O'C's as well.

As for personal experience. I have a leadtek ti-200. I cant "confirm" wether or not it has the exact same image quality as the leadtek ti-500 it does seem VERY good to me. On the OC front this card is Absolutely Phenominal. with STOCK cooling (not even a case fan blowing on it at all!) I can run it all the way up to 245/550 without any artifacts in 3dmark 2001!!! I'm willing to bet I can get even more out of it if I mounted and 80mm on it blowing on the ram and put a better gpu cooler on it. My personal goal is 275/600 I'll get there some time.

I score 7200 3d marks. in 2001 at 1024x768x32bp. My system is a ECS K7S5A with 512Mb Crucial cas 2.5 DDR and an XP1600+ running at 1.45Ghz. I think this is a pretty good score for a ti-200 with only an xp1600+.

Thats 28.6% OC on the Core and 27.3% OC on the memory.

This is from my personal experience. Also check out the ard forums. there is always alot of talk about ti-200's there.

My Gainward GF3-Ti200 is OCin' like on one's business!!! I haven't had much time to test it, but I've maxxed out the Core slider on Powerstrip(234Mhz) and have gotten the memory to 525Mhz. It was dead stable at that speed, but haven't tried higher. for $160 you absolutely cannot beat this card.

I have a feeling she's got a bit more left in her!

Joe4324,
Hate to tell you this but I get 7459 score on my Leadtek GF3 Ti 200 clocked at 230/530 and I have the same processor and DDR memories as you do. My shuttle AK31 must be the difference. I get 7940 if I set my FSB to 150.
I am using 23.11 driver on WIN2K.

My Palit Daytona GeForce3 Ti200 runs 230/530 with stock cooling, that's nice considering that it's the cheapest Ti200 you can get. With a 90mm fan blowing on it (and my pci-cards) it can run at least 240 core, haven't tried more. The ram cannot run faster than 539mhz, but that's still very good considering that it's 5ns ram.
My 3d-Mark 2001 score is 7833 (240/530) with an Athlon XP 1600+ oc'ed to 1554 (148x10,5).

I have my PNY GF3 ti 200 o/c to 241/551. I get around 7840 in 3dmark, with a AMD XP 1500 o/c to 1.41gigs.

Just ordered the Gainward GeForce3 Ti 200 based card.

One thing I liked. According to the reviews you can overclock from scratch by simply selecting a turbo mode or something on installation of the drivers.

So even idiots like me can overclock (safely, the cards are guaranteed to run in this mode) with out even thinking about it.

OTOH some people say dump the gainward drivers, install the latest nvidia drivers and set up overclocking by hand for the best drivers and performance.

What are you gainward users using the gainward drivers or the nvidia drivers and is it working out for you???

I've got a Gainward GF3 Ti200 and I didn't even bother with Gainward's drivers. Instead I'm using Nvidia's 23.11, no problems at all. Using NVmax to overclock to 235/530. Running WinXP Pro btw.

Gainward, absolutely Gainward Ti450. The only card that comes close is the Asus V8200 Ti200, which costs more!

Tom's Hardware did a large review of GF3 cards recently, and tested overclocking. While they did not test the Gainward Ti450, they did test it bigger brother, the Ti550--and the Ti450 overclocks to similar levels. Here's the article.

If you get the Gainward don't even put their CD in your machine (especially if you are using Windows XP). Just get nvidia's latest drivers and a copy of nvmax, and you are set. That card is guaranteed to run at 200/450, but that's not even close to what it can really do.

I have the gainward GF2/ti 450
Standard @ 250/400
Took off the heatsink, removed the glob of grease, and put some arctic silver on there, replaced hs/f
Got it running @ 300/500, Haven't had any problems in the last week and a half.

Codeguru,
Where did you purchase the card and how much did you pay for it?

Thanks,
