Which TBird should I get for overclocking?

I am going to upgrade to TBird. I'm currently using Duron700@1GHz with Abit KT7A, using the Kanie Hedgehog HSF and a Enermax 330W PSU.

I have several questions:

1) What's up with those new AXIAR cores? Read that they overclock very good, reaching like 1.5GHz or so, just like the AYHJA ones. By the way, does AXIAR appear on both the 1Ghz and 1.2GHz? Anyone owns a AXIAR TBird?

2) Should I get a 1GHz or a 1.2GHz, provided that they have the same code (e.g. AXIA)?

3) Do I also need to look for a core with a letter (rather than no.) in the 3rd line of the code?

Thanks in advance.

Listen go for the more you can afford.

I saw a 1.2gig 200mhz chip at newegg for $88. It can't be beaten. However 1.33 is only 20-40$ more.
YOu can get the best heatsink for that.

Just my thoughts.

1.2Ghz if you get a 1 Ghz you might not even make it to 1.2ghz.
I have a Avia 1.2 Ghz @ 1.5Ghz @ 1.85v. its by far the best processor
I've ever had.

I have a week 13 AXIAR T-bird 1ghz. I have it running at 1433 and it can run at 1450. But I am using a pretty high efficiency watercooler. I kinda think my KT7A mobo is holding back the overclock though. BTW I could only get 1400 at 1.85. I did a voltage mod (half hoping I would fry my mobo.......J/K) and its now running at 2.0vcore to get 1433. I had something freaky happen at the max vcore (2.15). It actually posted at 1600, but wouldn't even talk to the hard drive. That why I think its something I have thats holding back this chips overclock and I am guessing mobo.

1.2 guaranteed at least 1.2 duh. plus you dont have to worry about unlocking it which is just another added cost. monarchcomputer.com has them for 115+8 shipping (1.2@266fsb). it comes with a 3 year warranty.

I believe what you are looking for is an AYHJA. The AXIA is the previous stepping. As others have said, buy the fastest chip with a 266 FSB you can afford. Despite many 1 gig chips overclocking well, there is a reason why some of them are graded as 1 gig and some as 1333 MHz, 1.4 gig etc.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

So I should get a AYHJA 1.33GHz instead of those AXIA 1.2GHz? And I need to change my Power Supply?

yes...the enermax PSU helped attain stability...also...for those of you OCing...if i change my ram timing to 8882222...prime 95 crashes on me...but @ 8882622 i'm running it fine.
