I would mostly be using it for web browsing and playing videos on the device (Netflix, Plex). I'm not heavily invested in either Android's or Apple's ecosystems.
Nexus 7 has a great price and stock Android. Nexus 10's shape is too ugly for me to hold and look at.
iPad 4 is the latest with Retina display and has premium feel to it. Current iPad Mini isn't worth the price for its specs.
iPad 2 4th revision is considered just for its incredibly long battery life. (I missed a great deal on this for $280 at Best Buy.)
I'm not familiar if any of the devices can output to an HDTV via HDMI. That would be great but not a requirement.
