Yes i have em both on hand, the athlon xp was free so i cant really complain. The celeron D is about 1.5 years old, its the socket 478 one (heats up like crazy). I took out the celeron d out of my parents comp (when i was fixing it) and replaced it for a sempron. Sure its more of a side grade but it was cooler, quiter and quicker.

So yes these both systems are sort of like spair parts i have lying around which i decided to put together.

If I remember correctly, only certain Tbred 1700+ were good OCers. I have mine running my MAME cabinet with a 6800 AGP. The 1700+ is oc'd 200 x 10.

Well this one is a polomino 1700+, and it has difficulty running 150 * 11 stable

Palamino XP's were hot and had little overclocking headroom. This was fixed with the throughbred core, as i believe it was done on the 130nm process rather than 180nm.

Go with the celeron, itll perform better stock, and since its a D varient, it wont be all that bad. 256kb of L2 right? That beats the hell out of the old celeron 4's with 128kb.
