Lemme just let you guys know that my girlfriends sister wants to trade in her Durango due to poor gas mileage, but still wants another SUV.... She's stubborn, i know...

So what do you reccomend?

Personally i told her to wait until next summer when the Hybrid Escape comes out, but she wants to do something sooner than that.
I told her to check out the Jeep Liberty, Ford Escape, Nissan Xtera, and the Honda Pilot, but I dont know all that much about medium-sized SUV's....

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

BTW, Price Range is prolly under 30k, preferably under 25k as well....

All SUVs get poor gas mileage, IMO

Edit: If MPG is a big factor, look at 4-cylinder-based models like the CRV and RAV4.

Pilot or Murano (wait about 6 months until some of them show up at dealers as used cars)

Nissan Pathfinder :)

The Nissan Murano is pretty sweet...might be kind of small for your taste though

If she's used to a Durango it seems that a Pilot would be her best bet since its pretty big.

I like big SUVs like Tahoe, Suburban, Blazer, Denali, Escalade, etc.

Ewww... the Murano has by far the worst car name yet (or at least one of them) and is ugly to boot.

Well it looks like this is feeble anyway, her Durango just got appraised at 14k, when she still owes 18k on it :)

Nevermind.

If you're more concered with gas mileage then go for a smaller SUV, like a RAV4, CR-V, or maybe a Jeep Liberty.

Personally, I think the new Infiniti FX45 is pretty sweet, though it can be a bit pricey.

Driving method can get you some extra MPG, as well. When I first got my Durango I was getting 12-13 in town, now I get around 17-18.
