I think this is what you want to see:

Basically an array with 3 raptors:

3 Intel X25-M in Raid 0:

Tweak some advice.. you dont look at windows score.
It only makes you sound very noobish.
Instead take a look at what sector you want a strong point in.

Seq / 512k / 4k.

2 X25-M's in raid, @ a cost of 200 dollars, probably cheaper if you get deals, gets a 7.9 in windows raiting:

Now if only my quadfire setup would do the same... :p

Not sure but I have hit 7.9 with 2x X25-V 40GB's in RAID 0. See a screenshot here when I was testing a Xeon X3440.

<3 ICH10R!!!

120 GB Vertex 2 = 7.8 (i think)
i7-930 @ 4.0GHz = 7.7
Radeon 5870 = 7.8
G.Skill RAM = 7.9

64bit version of CDM

Aforementioned array.

115MHz PCI-E on REXIII = crazy IOPS!

I get a 7.7 with my 160GB G2 on a fairly old system. Haven't bothered to upgrade because I'm pretty happy with the ICH10R. I wouldnt trade an Intel G2 for any other brand of drive (I've had quite a few and this is just my personal experience).

Yeah the writes look weak on those.

Looks like I need to update my x64 version of CDM. :(

Welcome to AT!

Where the "Tech" went I don't know...

I used to take time to post technical stuff like that. Either no one listens or they accuse me of being a google bot...whatever.

That is why I've given up. I knew eventually others would also do the same.

Some days I wonder why I even sign on here. :(

What's the difference between GEN 3 and SATAIII? Is it the same thing?

I got 6.9 drive index score on my Kingston Vnow series 64GB SSD, and my motherboard (abit ip35e) doesn't even support AHCI...

I agree with this...Intel just works. I have installed a few Intel G2 drives (2 80s and a 40) for myself and about 8 80GB G2s for customers in the last 6 months...ZERO bad out of the box...ZERO problems.

My G2 80GB score is 7.8 on my workstation with a Gigabyte P35 chipset mobo (ICH9R), Q6600 at 3.38 ghz, 4 GB RAM and Win 7 64 Ult.

You gonna consider upgrading when Gen 3 comes out?

Consider isn't the word.. I'm definitely going with the G3. I love this drive, and can't wait to see what Intel has in store for the next gen. It's DEFINITELY worth the money for the G2 today, and whatever they ask for the G3s. I've had 0 problems with my Intel drives, I can't say that about Indilinx, Sandforce or Crucial.

My grandmother is using a 80GB G2 for this reason. I don't have anything to worry about. For me SSDs are already stable and mature, as long as you're using Intels.

In the naive pursuit that more data makes for better stats - my $89 Intel X25-V gets a 7.6
