Hi,

In a fit of Noobness I upgraded my PC to the spec in my sig.
I have an XFX 7600GS 256MB PCI-E graphics card and it's not performing as expected.
(I was blinded by voodoo and the passive cooling. lol)

On my motherboard I can increase the speed for this card from 100MHZ to 145MHZ in incremental steps. It's currently running at 100MHZ.

What is the proper speed for this card? Stock , not overclocked.

I think it's £90 wasted as I wanna play Counter Strike:Source & BF2 and it keeps crashing on the settings it recommends. Not tried reducing the settings inGame yet as i have to work this weekend.

If you want to over-clock the card, over-clock the GPU and Memory on the card not the PCI-E bus.

"The NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS is a single slot card that features a 400MHz core clock speed with a GDDR2 memory clock speed of 400MHz (800MHz double data rate)."

"XFX has also stepped up the clock rates of this Xtreme Edition from the standard 7600 GS. GPU core speeds have been increased from 400MHz to 500MHz while memory speed is up to 900MHz from the 800MHz of the reference design."

more than a few times the factory overclocked cards are unstable from the factory.
