Which speed for the drives??

If a IDE33 drive and a ATA100 drive is connected to the same controller, which speed will be the dominant???

I believe they will run independent of each other, I have an ATA66 drive and an ATA33 drive on the same channel, and the BIOS reports them running at their own speeds.

the newer ide controllers have independent programmable timing registers in the controller's design.
Basically, that means that having an ata 100 hdd on the same channel with a hardware device of different rating will not degrade the hdd's performance.

Does anyone have some sort of documentation or links to sites with documentation? I could really use it because i'm involved in the same discussion in a forum in Denmark (where i'm from). I also believe that the drives will have separate speeds.
