I really don't know which one to get. I hear some people say that the x-240 are not that good, but it has this extra mp3 feature device on it. They both cost the same right now

help! which one should I get? I want to know which one is better for gaming and listening to music.
 
does there happen to be a review that directly compares x240 to the x230? i read seperate reviews on both, but i still can't decide which one is better.
 
Oh dude,, Definately get the x230 because the x240 has the cone blasting the ground. which means you can't flip it on it's side or anything.

The sound quality of the bass also differs depending on the Type of floor you have with x240, though i guess you're not too worried about any of this because they're just 30$ speakers..

But yea,, there is a difference, Ground blasters suk
 
I LOVE my X-230's. IMHO the best 2.1 speakers i ever owned. And they are SOOO powerful, i mean their db output is tremendous for their size. They can near outblast my bro's 4.1 setup.
 
I have the x240. Personally, I think the x230 is supposed to be better. The x240 was designed to be compatible with ipods and other mp3 devices. They were marketing that so heavily that I was wondering how much emphasis they were putting on plain PC configurations.

I also found that the numbers favor the x230 even though the x240 is the newer model. The x230 has slightly bigger satellite speakers. I don't know if that means better sound of course.

From my personal experience, though, the x240 isn't too bad. I'm not a total audiophile, and I was pretty happy with what I had gotten for the price.

Down-firing subs definitely do not suck. Crappy subs do.
 
Very happy with my X230s.

I think it was the reviews on Amazon that had a consensus that the 230s were better. (Memory could be faulty about it being Amazon.)
 
X-230s are better than the X-240s...better sound, especially because of the 240's pointing towards the ground tends to muffle the sound.

But, any Logitech speakers are great...even my 12W R-20s give great sound considering I paid only $15 for them.
