Which songs make you feel like a kid again?

Songs come and go. Good music eventually peaks once I've heard it enough and then I'll start to get bored of it. Then there are the many classic groups & individual songs I appreciate just for the sheer awesomeness: pink floyd, ACDC, guns and roses, as well as many classical composers.

But I'm asking you what your favourite songs are that make you feel like a kid again--to be in wonder of the world and ignorant to all the problems. Something that, for a short few minutes, takes you back to feeling like you were a twelve year old kid in amazement to all things man-made and otherwise. Songs that made you remember how you were really optimistic and once couldn't wait to "grow up" and get the freedoms of an adult.

What are they?

Mine have to be Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers and Stand by Me by Ben E. King. These two songs make me feel enamoured with love while feeling like a child again--totally vulnerable and yet completely protected by something larger/my parents. I flashback to road trips in our old car, going to and from relatives homes during holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter). This is likely because those two songs came on frequently during the road trips on the radio (parents love oldies). In addition, they are two beautifully crafted love songs.

Notable mention are Don Henley Boys of Summer, Men At Work-Down Under and Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds.

Share yours!

I had this little mini cassette player as a kid & I only had two tapes with two songs each:

The Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian/Manic Monday
Huey Lewis - It's Hip to Be Square/B side ?

I had it for like two years & I bet the company that made them went out of business before then. I would bring it to school & think I was the ******.

I'm positive my favorite songs around 10 years ago were:

Hanson - Where's the Love
Spice Girls - Say You Will Be There
:p

Even now, it's kinda amusing to listen to that music. 1996-1997 was a great time in my childhood. :)

Any beach Boys, Emerson Lake and Palmer, or Boston song, along with some kid's tapes I used to listen to on long car rides.
