Which SB Live should I get?

WTF, theres like 5 of these things. Is the value the same hardware as all the rest, just without all the software? Do I want any of that software? I have the FPS2000 speaker set up. Any thoughts?

all the 5.1's are the same hardware wise (except the platnium includes the LiveDrive2 IR) just different bundles.

not positive about the value and the actual makeup of the board... I have the old value for my other system (w/o digital out) and it is very nice with my FPSs.

yeah, i beleive that they are all the same hardware excluding the 5.1 line from the non 5.1's of course. But there might be a difference from the platinum and the rest (other than the live drive) but your best bet is probably the value, thats what i have.

If you dont need the 5.1 get the value, if ya want the 5.1 just find the one that suits your price range unless your looking for a specific bundle that looks better then the rest to ya.

The SBLive Value 1024 OEM is a good buy,mine came with Digital output,I really only use it for games, gaming wise they are all the same.

Is the 5.1 used mainly for TV-out and DVD stuff?

i think the only use for the 5.1 is for watching DVD's cuz i think that most games dont use 5.1 channels, or am i wrong?

5.1 is supporting the Dolby 5.1 surround. Supported by DVDs.
If you don't want to do musician stuff, get the Value line. But I don't know if THAT has 5.1 yet, or that is the platinum...
