Which Sapphire is better?

I am looking for an inexpensive video card for a new build. My budget is roughly $150. I am looking at the Sapphire R9 270 and the Sapphire R7 265. Both are around $160 at Amazon right now. Is the 270 much better than the 265? Are both good overclockers? I am looking to play a backlog of older games with the card (games 3-6 years old). Is one clearly better than the other for that purpose?

R9 270 is a full chip, the 265 is a cut-down version of the same chip made for lower budget cards. Get the 270.

The chip is a pretty okay overclocker, you should be able to hit 1150-1200 pretty easily.

Yes, 1080p.

Edit:The AT bench you provided was for a 270x, not a 270. I think there is a clock speed difference between the 270 and 270x if I'm not mistaken? If so, the 265 and the 270 are probably pretty close in performance. Overclocking capabilities might make the difference here.

The 270 is closer to the 270X.
