I´ve got 2x1GB of cl3 ram, so I think S939 will offer me best value for money. I´m going to use my rig as a multimedia work station for me and my wife.

I read that the MSI K8NGM2-FID is probably the best for S939 out there, but I don´t know if I should get the 3800+ or a faster cpu.

Please correct me if there is a better deal on the motherboard and which cpu is a best buy. I´m willing to o/c if that is wise.

I'm happy with my Asus A8N-E so that's another possible choice.

X2 3800+ is a very good value and about as fast as a P4 3.0 GHz dual core. If that doesn't sound fast enough, buy a 4200+, etc. instead.

I agree with the A8N5X board (and have it). Since you've got 2x1 gig RAM and you're getting a new board...might be worthwhile grabbing a 4600+ for around $250 and get as much life out of it as you can...

you can consider buying X2 3800 and ocing it to 2.4-2.7 or higher, get a better cooling, that is better than all these options at stock.

Get Amd X2 3800 + Thermaltake Big Typhoon + Good mobo + Better ram if need be + Radeon X1900XT or higher, most important spend on graphic card and think of rest after that.

Anyway oc the X2 3800 to 2.4-3ghz

If you're not a heavy overclocker I'm going to suggest the AsRock boards. They're cheap and great boards for the money. They are even an OK overclocker. I have my 4200+ clocked to 2.6@1.37v, and I can't make it lockup or give me an error. I tend to OC, leave it there for a week to test, then OC some more. Tomorrow I'll try for 2.7, and I feel like I'll hit it with no problem.
