I currently have the WD My Net N750, but it is causing problems and seems to be a DOA.
The problem is that when I play a video on the external HDD that's connected the WD router, it is very choppy, when I play a Netflix movie on the Xbox, I constantly get the error that I have been logged out of Netflix at the same time all other devices on the network that are connected wirelessly are no longer working, although their connections show full bars. When I restart the router it takes over 10 minutes for the wireless channels to be visible and connectable again. WD support mentioned that this router seems to be DOA.
I currently have the option to exchange it for another WD my Net N750 ($99.99) or a Linksys E3200 ($69.99) I would get some money back in the Linksys. Now I am aware that the WD has 450mbps bandwith on the 5GHz channel and the Linksys only has 300mbps on both channels.
If anyone has an even better router to suggest around the same $100 mark I am open for this option too, I must mentioned the E3200 because it's on sale for $60 off.
My setup is the following:
1 x Windows 7 PC connected with ethernet cable
2 x MacBook Pro Laptop connected to 5GHz channel
2 x Windows XP PCs connected to 2.4 GHz channel
1 x Android Phone connected to 5GHz channel
1 x Phone connected to 5GHz channel
1 x iPod connected to 2.4 GHz channel
1 x Xbox 360 connected to 5 GHz channel
1 x Nintendo Wii connected to 2.4 GHz channel
I also have a 2TB exernal HDD connected to the router's USB port.
I rarely have all devices running at the same time, usually I run about half of them.
My main reason for asking is, that since the WD has currently issues, how reliable are the WD My Net N750 routers compared to the Linksys E3200.
