Which route to Texas should I take?

Leaving for Texas tonight.

What route should I take? All are within an hour driving from each other. I've done route #1 and #2 before, but never #3, and my friend who is coming with me hasn't done any.

I'd say 1 or 2. Missouri and Oklahoma are boring states.

Much would depend on where in TX you wish to end up and what scenery your wish to take in on the way.

Head down the Blue Ridge I87 in VA to I40 and head over toward Memphis for decent mountain and rolling hills.

St Louis gives you the arch.

i say #1 just because they only time i've driven through wva and va the scenery was great and made for a good drive.

I seriously just busted out laughing here at work.

I've driven through "Texhoma" which is right on the border between Oklahoma and Texas. It was the foulest smelling town that I think I've ever encountered.

I think they had a couple rendering and/or meat processing plants there that just reaked of sh!t and decaying flesh.

that was probably Guymon, which is near (~20 mi) Texhoma. There is a large Seaboard pig slaughtering operation there and yes, I can confirm it is a wretched smell.

#2....I have bad luck getting pulled over in Virginia. Then again...I have bad luck getting pulled over in NJ as well and I don't think you can skip that step.
