Ok. HDTV is gonna be in 720p. This is 720 lines progressively scanned. Currently, your DVD's run at 480p. 1080i and 720p are both very good and I would say virtually the same. It is just that EDTV's will only support up to 720p, but true HDTV's will support 1080i. 1080i is an interlaced scan. Progressive is much better than interlaced, but keep in mind you are getting a lot more lines with the 1080i. So, bascially from what I can see 1080i is slightly better. I would say use 1080i. Sorry if I was a little confusing, I tried my best to explain.

That TV is 720p native, not 1080i. So 720p is the best resolution for you to use.

My .02 - from what I understand, the XB360 natively does 720p and upscales to 1080i. Your TV does 720p natively. So it seems logical that 720p will yield the best quality with the fewest conversions.
