Geez, I'm sorry to hear that.
My last girlfriend was Catholic, too. She was always apologzing for everything. You folks have a way of feeling guilty about everything. Unlike most of my Jewish friends who make you feel guilty about everything.

Yeah, us Catholics are second only to the Jews in guilt.

Episcopalian (sp?) has been described as "Catholic Lite. All the religion, one third the guilt."

what i tell people is that Episcopalianism is just Catholicism for rich white people.

you could give to your future spouse.

Yes, give the gift of inexperience to your future spouse; nothing like an inept, fumbling, incompetent wedding night experience to really start off a marriage the right way..

It would have been funnier if you'd asked "which religions forbid premarital sects"?

Taken literally, I agree with your post.

I don't see any where in the 10 commandments that say thou shall not have premarital sex.

I think the thou shalt not commit adultery one covers the base fairly well. Assuming you define adultery as sexual relations with anyone other than your wife/husband, that is.

Heh, I grew up Episcopal. We did use the Catholic Lite saying, except I always heard it as "Catholic Lite. All the ceremony, half the guilt." :)

My Catholic friends used to refer to Episcopalians as "B-team Catholics" or "Second string Catholic". ;)

But to address the topic, I think a lot of religions try to teach the value and importance of chastity, but may fail to address what one should do when feeling a certain way or having certain emotions about someone.

Most definitions I've seen seem to require one or both partners to be married (to someone else).
Maybe someone more familiar with the Bible could point out where premarital sex is forbidden.

In my culture, its not religion that keeps one from premarital sex. But since the man has to purchase the bride from her parents, the parents tell the girls never to do it because:
A used car is hard to sell.
