Quick question here
i have the following receivers
Onkyo - HT-R550
JVC - RX-7040
and Pioneer - VSX-D307

The Pioneer (much older) is hooked into a 2.1 system on my girlfriends computer hooked into an old bose system (601's?)

Now for my main living room im debating over the onlyo and JVC and i would like to see what you all would reccomend (eventually i will get rid of both and get much better equip, but im only 22 and my salary only gets me so far right now with a 3br/2ba house)

I have a 7.1 setup in my living room consisting of
Cerwin-Vega Cvhd-63C center channel

Pyle Home PHST89Pyle Home PHST89 200-Watt 3-Way Bass Reflex Home Speakers

PylePro PHS78 150 Watt 3-WayPylePro PHS78 150 Watt 3-Way Bass Reflex Home Speakers

Pyle Home PHS66
Pyle Home PHS66 100-Watt 2-Way Bass Reflex Home Speakers

and a JBL 12" subwoofer

i also have a 7.1 setup in the bedroom using the HTIB speakers from the Onkyo reciever

for reference TV in living room is 56" Toshiba DLP 1080P
and TV in bedroom is Panasonic 42G1 42" 1080P Plasma

Both systems are hooked into PC's and most media is x264 format, Audio CD's or DTS/DD5.1 media

from you all's experiance which would be the better amp where, or should i really concider upgrading

Try both and see which one sounds better to your ears? Amps don't make as much difference in sound as speakers do, but there are usually noticeable differences.
