Which RAM

I am building a computer at the moment. What RAM should I buy. I was thinking 1G DDR2 5400 667 mhz. Is this a wise choice. I read somewhere to get 3200 400 mhz but feel this is not enough for high end applications. Is there such a thing as too much RAM (quality)?

AMD boards only support DDR's and not DDR2's at the moment.

Also, anything over 400MHz is unnecessary unless you are overclocking your CPU.

They do not support DDR2? Why not? Should I wait on buying the MB?

Because it won't physically fit. DDR has 184 pins and 240 for DDR2. Only Intels use DDR2 at the moment.

Should you wait? Don't know... they haven't really mentioned how the new generation is going to be configured.

So, what's the BEST RAM you can buy for this MB? I will be overclocking.

You can use memory dividers where you don't have to overclock the RAM... although a 1:1 OC is the best.

What CPU are you going to run?

What is your budget and are you looking for 1 or 2 gigs?

you should wait a few months for socket am2, that will support ddr2 800
