nice proc/mobo/video card, i have the same :p

no comment on the ram (i have infineon for the record), but if your going to overclock, be sure to update the bios on both the MoBo and video card. before the update: proc oc limited to 2.6ghz, no post any higher. after the update, im now at a stable 2.7ghz and it will post at 2.8ghz+.

edit: btw, welcome to the forums :)

The Mushkin DDR500 is better than the GSkill and it's only $9 more after the rebate, although rebates are pretty stupid. The GSkill has the wrong auto-detect info, so you have to manually enter the timings on your motherboard every time.

But DDR500 works well with that setup. You should be able to hit 2.7 GHz with the memory synchronous at DDR540 with either of those if the CPU/heatsink can handle it.

G.SKILL fixed the SPD glitch in the more recent batches of HZ - mine autodetects just fine.

go with the g.skill. could you squeeze in $40 more for $100 per gig ram? if not it's fine but that $200 G.skill should get you a little farther
