Which Ram to use with EP-8RDA+ ?

I've been researching about which RAM I should use with this mobo. I'll be getting a new PC soon and I'm sure I'm going with Epox this time...

What's the deal with these Corsair XMS series? I doubt it I'll be doing overclocking (maybe slightly later on) but nothing big.
Also, should I use PC2700 or PC3200? (I'll be getting an Athlon XP 2400+/266 FSB)

Oh talking about processors, what's a good, not noisy, but not overpriced heatsink fan for this CPU? first time I'm going with AMD.

thanks 🙂

Corsair XMS = Overclocking RAM. Really good OC ram. Unless you plan on doing at least average OCing, then don't bother with the TwinX or XMS.

Since you'll be getting a 2400+ which will run at 133 x 15.0, you should probably get PC2700 as you could run 166 x 12 (or 12.5) and have your proc and RAM run in sync. As for brands of PC2700, TwinMOS, Geil or Kingston are all pretty cheap and quality RAM.

Hitting an FSB of 200 on a 2400+ might be a little tricky. But I don't know how the 2400+'s OC, so I'm not 100% sure.

Heatsink / Fan Combo: ThermalRight SK-7 and 35 - 45CFM 80mm Fan. It'll run you probably $25 if you order over @ SVC

Have fun 🙂
