Another option would be the Sparkle FSP550-60PLG which is cheaper. It would actually be a better choice IMO.

I am looking for a good Power Supply to buy for an SLI setup of two 7800 GTXs. The min. requirement is 500W, and I was looking at the OCZ Modstream 520W or the Powerstream(Over $100).

Would it be bad to just be barely over Nvidia's requirements?

Thank you for your help.

So, you spend $1200.00 for two video cards and are not willing to pay a little extra for a good power supply?

I has a dual rail or single rail depending on which you select, plus 2 pci-e power connectors.

It is rated +12V@30A which is below the recommended for his system. Also for $10 more he could get the Sparkle I mentioned that would be a lot better.

No. I have a 6800 Ultra and I stepped up with eVGA to a 7800 GTX for like $150, and I am waiting for a bit until the price goes down to buy a second one; I only have enough to get a Power Supply $100-110 (I bought the OCZ Powerstream 520W btw). I wanted to get a power supply that would handle the SLI setup later without having to upgrade.

30A isn't enough? I doubt any system really needs more than 30A, unless things have changed a lot recently.

I have an ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe (although a.t.m. i only have 1 graphics card), and here's what the manual says:

Athlon64 FX-55, 2x GeForce 6800Ultra's, 4DDR Dimms, 4HDD's, 2 Optical drives: +12Volts >25A
Athlon64 3800+, 2x GeForce 6800GT's, 2DDR Dimms, 2HDD's, 2 Optical Drives: +12Volts >20A
Athlon64 3400+, 2x GeForce 6600GT's, 2DDR Dimms, 2HDD's, 1 Optical Drive: +12Volts >17A

So, as long as you have 25A on the 12V rail, you should have no problems, even with the biggest sytem you can build. I have an Antec TruePower 480W, which supplies 28A on the 12V Rail, and this is more than enough for almost any system.

RoD

P.S. I dunno why they have an Athlon64 3400+ listed. It is a socket 939 mobo, but the 3400+ doesn't come in 939..."

And 30A isn't enough, when >25A is?

Also,
The GeForce 6800 Ultra draws around 110-120 Watts of power; the GeForce 7800 GTX draws around 100-110 Watts of power.
The power supply requirement for a single GeForce 7800 GTX is 330W, while a GeForce 6800 Ultra requires a 350W PSU. When you compare the performance of the GeForce 6800 Ultra with its power requirements to the GeForce 7800 GTX?s performance with its power requirements, you will find the 7800 GTX delivers much more frames per second per watt of power.
http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=Nzg0LDI=

So a single 7800gtx sytem is 330w, and each gtx takes 110w, so 330 + 110 = 440w for 7800gtx sli.
