Going to buy a new 120 gig slim the weekend its out. Was waiting for the price drop, and price drop + smaller ps3 = win.

edit:

let me add if sony makes software emulator for ps2 I WILL buy it. 20 bucks and its mine so as long as I get 85%+ compatability rate, and most of the games that work are the popular games as opposed to esoteric games that never left japan.

however, sony sees too much potential in making $$ with the PSN store selling PS2 games so I doubt we'll ever see it 🙁

It just isn't going to happen. Sony wants people to keep buying PS2s for some reason. They must be having an Atari moment.
As for putting them on PSN, Sony as usual has been humming and hawing over the idea but it seems PS2 games are too difficult to software emulate and thus require complete code rewrites. I think getting the GPU to be emulated on the RSX is the big sticking point. The 80gb model software emulated the Emotion Engine but still kept the Graphics Synthesizer chip.

I had a 60gig PS3, but it died when trying to play a netflix movie. I now have a 160gb machine after ripping the out of warranty 60gig machine apart to get my netflix movie back out of it.

80gb with BC. I've never played an PS2 or 1 game on it even though I have older games. Guess there are too many new ones to bother at this point.

60gb launch w/BC.

the BC is rarely used. i've used it probably 4 times maybe.

BC really is one of the most overrated features IMO. i didn't get a PS3 to play PS2 games, I got it to play PS3 games.

I never had a PS2, so I've played a few PS2 games on it. Probably going to play more, too.

60GB launch, that needs to be opened and cleaned badly. It is the loudest console in my home now. The fan kicks into high, and stay there for a long time, over just about anything now. Had the HDD get corrupted once too, had to do a reformat.

Otherwise, it has been a jewel and held up to many blu-ray, DVD, and gaming sessions.
