With all of the news and discussion due to the official announcement of the PS3 Slim, I thought it'd be interesting to see what versions of the PS3 are most prevalent on the AT Console Forums. And also, to see who has been holding out for a major price cut/form factor change.

Myself, I have an 80 GB Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle PS3 (the last version to include Backwards Compatibility).

Edit: Finally got the poll right...sorry, it is my first time posting a poll. :)

I guess I should have split up the 20 and 60 GB Launch PS3s, but I grouped them together since they hit the market at the same time and had the same major feature in common (hardware-based BC).

Oh well. :p

40gb unfortunately.

Never had the money at the time to pick up a PS3 with BC.

Launch consoles are the best. Emotion Engine chip (full hardware BC), 4 USB ports, and ya they're rare now so wooot!

Was that the gun metal grey PS3? I would have been all over that
with 80 GB storage/BC

Yup. I believe at the time the 80GB BC MGS4 bundle was no longer around (otherwise I would have gotten it) and this was available for the normal $399.99 from Amazon (not whatever ridiculous price it initially sold for at Konami).

60gb, bought right before it was discontinued. Last one on the shelf at BB for $450. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

I'd be interested in a PS3 if they released a slim model with PS2 hardware based backwards compatibility. I might even ditch my 360 for one, I mostly play fighting games anyways and I have a large library of fighters for the PS2. Actually the only 360 exclusive I own is Halo 3, aside from a few XBLA titles.

Scored a 20GB launch PS3 a few months ago that was hardly used from Craigslist. The guy said he had no time to play it since he had a new baby which is totally understandable. What isn't understandable is that he sold the PS3 to me for $200 plus a trade of my PS2 Slim. The 20GB PS3 is fully backward compatible.

His loss was definitely my gain. :D

Won my 40GB model as a door prize at our company Christmas party a couple years ago, although as of yesterday, it's a 500GB model.

My PS2 still works fine, so the lack of BC doesn't really bug me that much.

Going to buy a new 120 gig slim the weekend its out. Was waiting for the price drop, and price drop + smaller ps3 = win.

edit:

let me add if sony makes software emulator for ps2 I WILL buy it. 20 bucks and its mine so as long as I get 85%+ compatability rate, and most of the games that work are the popular games as opposed to esoteric games that never left japan.

however, sony sees too much potential in making $$ with the PSN store selling PS2 games so I doubt we'll ever see it :(
