Which program is reporting the correct core temps?

Running Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 with E4300.

Core Temp is reporting 15C higher then SpeedFan and RightMark. I've read that SpeedFan 4.32 is reporting wrong temp... So does that mean Rightmark is also reporting wrong temp (they read same temps).

I'm unable to install Intel (TAT) Thermal Analysis Tool as it gives me an error. "Intel(R) Active Monitor can only be installed on a computer based on an Intel Motherboard. Install will now abort."

Core Temp is reporting 48C idle and 70C full load (SpeedFan and RightMark is reporting 32C and 55C). My current config is 9 x 326 FSB @ 1.45 V using stock HSF. Is this normal?

Considering you have stock cooling @ 1.45V, Core Temps results seem much more accurate.

There's no way it's idling @ 33C, & loading @ 55C only w/ that much vcore on the stock cooling unless your ambient temps are like 10C.

i have been comparing CoreTemp, SpeedFan and my onboard asus stuff (AI Suite)

CoreTemp and SpeedFan give me the same core temps

SpeedFan and AISuite give me the same CPU/System temps, and the same voltages and fan speeds (CPU-Z also gives me matching vcore voltages)...i was kind of expecting some variation, but they are always in sync. i guess am i just lucky?

TAT load temps are a little bit different from those given by the programs above...

I think 75 is pretty good considering you're running stock cooling and an overvolt.

I run my E6600 on 340*9@stock and do about 70 in core-temp and normal ambient with a Scythe Mine and Artic Silver 5 - my airflow is not optimal however so the heatsink/thermal paste combo should be able to do better. That's with Orthos stress CPU test, add about 5 degrees to that if you use TAT to stress things.

Right now it's 30 degrees outside and I do 73-74 degrees on normal stress and 80-81 degrees on TAT.

Isn't 80C a bit high? Most guides seem to recommend to keep it under 65C.

I would agree. I have seen set-up guides for SpeedFan that says you need to give the cores a 15C offset (i.e. add 15 degrees) in order to get accurate temps. I'm not sure exactly why, tbh.

Core temp is a more accurate program, but go for Intel TAT to double-check it.

The Intel TAT and CoreTemp both read from the temperature sensor diode inside the cores and are generally more accurate than programs that use the sensor in the CPU socket.
