Which program do you use to play mp3's?

Am I awkward in that I still use and love Windows Media Player 6.4? I absolutely despise Winamp's small buttons and its myriad of buttons. Musicmatch opens way too slow and the interface is very cluttered. Realplayer is just like Musicmatch, slow and cluttered. Also why do people demand playlists? I prefer to just put the song on repeat and when I get bored of it I just go searching for another one and play that one. Windows Media Player 6.4 has such a simple easy to use interface and it opens so rapidly. I despise the iMac-like interface of Musicmatch and Realplayer.

Winamp 2.81 is out now. :D

* Updated to PP's latest input and output plugins
* In_mp3 now doesn't continue to play on output plugin error
* Smaller installers because we use msvcrt.dll now
* Fixed bugs relating to files with ~ in their names
* Doublerightclick in credits makes for fullscreen credits
* More bugfixes (including a fix in the version update notification checking)
* Updated installer to have nicer error messages
* Made systray icon update if explorer restarts
* ...and more (muahaha)!

i use winamp 2.8 on i8200 uxga screen, to increase the size of the buttons etc...go to option and double the size of the winamp window and increase the fonts so it is easier to read. if you like wmp 6.4, you can also try zoomplayer (plays dvd, divx, mp3s...everything w/ playlist also)

I use Winamp 2.7 or something, I don't know I hardly ever check the version but it keeps popping up that a newer one is available for download. Winamp can be made alot larger with a plugin too so that it doesn't look so small if your resolution is 1280x1024 or higher.

Winamp is still tops. Real and MM are annoying, WMP is too simple w/out enough easy-to-use features and whatnot.

Is Winamp3 done already? I tried the beta a while ago and it had quite a few bugs to be worked out and features that weren't yet implemented. I'll have to check on it again because it did look very promising!

WMP 7.1

I don't necessarily think it's the best, I simply have no need for anything else.
WMP has all the basic capabilities I need, and it's included natively with WinXP.

I seldom play MP3's, so WMP is perfectly suitable for the occasional video file, or MP3/CD that I wish to listen to. I don't need any features at all, as long as it can play back the music/videos reasonably well then that's all I ask.

WMP does that, and is included natively with XP so I see no reason to use any third party applications. I much prefer not to install any applications unless I will definitely make good use of them.
The less cluttered, and more organized everything is on my PC the happier I am.
I don't want to install anything more then is trictly necessary for me.

you really should update your winamp. versions below 2.8 are susceptible (sp?) to mp3 virii (<- is that plural virus?)

I agree with joinT, I've never been a HUGE security freak, but I know I would upgrade Winamp, especially if you download mp3's...
BTW, viruses is the plural of virus.

Winamp 2.80. I used to think the same way and was confused intimidated and put off by Winamp's interface and I started a thread in these forums asking why people preferred Winamp over Media Player, which seemed more straightforward. Of course, I had a host of people defending and explaining Winamp and I soon made it my default audio media player. The buttons are small, but so what? Takes up less space.
