Which processor to use in new build HTPC?

I'm just about to get started on my first HTPC build but I'm having a bit of trouble with the first decision.... this doesn't bode well does it??

I want to run 3 TV tuners - WinTV PVR150 / WinTV HVR1600 (dual tuner). I want to rip CDs/DVDs to the HDD for later.

I have a sound card with optical out and a 7600GT fanless.

I plan to put this build in a HTPC case later so I want to keep the heat down as much as I can.

Potential simultaneous workload: ripping a DVD, transferring a DVD file to NAS, and recording 2 programs while watching a third

Processors on hand: X2 4400+, e4300, e6300

Which processor can most easily handle this without OC? Would any of them be a poor choice? How about the heat?

Thanks!

probably an E6300/E6400 would be good for your needs, but the amd isnt a slouch by any means.

if you could wait for a bit, the new core 2 duo cpus (E6420, E6550, etc) are coming out and all of them have 4MB of cache...cheaper prices too.

Any of the processors you listed should be able to handle the tasks you specify. However, the X2-4400+ will likely produce more heat than the E4300 and E6300, albeit not by much. You would also get less power consumption from the DDR2 the Core 2 chips would be using versus the DDR used by the X2 4400+

However, you might get a bit more performance out of the X2-4400+. Hard to say.

Thanks for the info. I wish I had waited to be sure.
Unfortunately, all of these are here now... long story. In fact, I have 2 x e4300's..... longer story! ARRRGGGHHH!!! Gonna have to eBay one for sure. The eggs return charges are around $30!

EDIT: Nevermind on the Ebay... the prices are worse than a return to the egg!
