Which processor is faster?

LOL I love this, THG's CPU charts shows the EE to be faster.

Isnt that BS! I just wanted to see how many other people thought so.

Select the FX-53 and then select the P4 3.72 EE. They say the 3.72 to win about 80% of the benchmarks which are all based on encoding any way.
 
Hey, I voted for the EE before reading the thread. The FX-53 just isn't that fast anymore, having been left thoroughly in the dust by the FX-55 and 57.

The 3.72ghz EE is a newer chip, too, though I think I'd rather have the 3.46 ghz EE.

Yeah that chart is full BS, how do you make the mother of all CPU charts and only bench 2 things. Why in the world woun't you choose something else after the first to or three encoding benchs instead I think they put 9 or so in, alsmot more then the games.
 
Didn't vote as the poll is silly. Sounds very much like you want everyone to agree that the amd is faster then the intel, and/or wanted to do a bit of tom's bashing at the same time.

If you really care about which is faster - then what are you doing with them? Do you actually have the option to buy one? How much for?

tbh I don't know why you would buy either chip as there are better cheaper chips on the market these days.

They are pretty close.

I didn't vote, since either is better depending on what you use your PC for.
