I want to buy a color printer. I am confused as there are many companies nowadays. Also I don't know what features are available nowadays. My budget is about $150 (maximum).
Suggestions welcome!
There are a couple of recent printer threads here that pretty much cover it. Always better to read those that exist rather than starting a new thread on a shop-worn topic.
Epson and HP printers are generally Linux friendly: http://www.linux-foundation.or...Printers#Color_Inkjets Linux and Open software resource sites as linked have the most info. A German web site has produced drivers for Canon, but you may have to pay for some of them. Not sure about Brother/Samsung. Any that have PostScript page language should work just fine. Linspire found my Canon iP4300 and set it up OK. I've since changed to HP K5400. Most HPs use one version or another of HP's PCL, so most OSes should have a way to work with them by now but likely not to support all features.
