The following Presidents were not Criminals when they were President:
jefferson, tyler, zachary taylor, Cleveland, and harding.
Traditionally, polls of historians and scholars have ranked Harding as one of the worst Presidents (nonetheless the nations unemployment rate dropped by half during Hardings administration[1]); primarily due to the multiple scandals in his administration caused by the "Ohio Gang"; Harding's cabinet and appointees who warranted federal corruption investigations, charges, and convictions.
This topic is fail since Woodrew Wilson is not a option.
the internment and the very unnecessary bombing of the Japanese resulted in more deaths (the Emperor was willing to turn himself in for War Crimes, but FDR told Truman to bomb Japan unconditionally) if I'm not mistaken.
Between FDR, Jackson, and Lincoln who was the closest to Adolf Hitler? Why?
I said FDR, because he performed the largest and only double Genocide done by the U.S. government, and he had a New Deal just like Adolph Hitler and Mussolini.
While I think that the Trails of Tears was terrible, tyrannical, and Unconstitutional, the internment and the very unnecessary bombing of the Japanese resulted in more deaths (the Emperor was willing to turn himself in for War Crimes, but FDR told Truman to bomb Japan unconditionally) if I'm not mistaken. Plus, Andrew Jackson was quite the Anti-New Deal.
I'll admit one difference between Adolf Hitler and FDR though, and that's the fact that the latter put the world before his country, while the former kind of put his country before the world.
I love it when people make up history to make a point.
Japan was not interested in a surrender. Period.
The US asking for an unconditional surrender only made that worse.
The use of the two nuclear weapons can be debated until we're blue in the face, but I think it's reasonable to say that the US could have convinced Japan into surrender if they had shown them the weapon before actually using it. Seeing as this argument is purely counterfactual, it's impossible to say whether that would have worked, but it would have been a reasonable attempt to save lives -- something the US obviously wasn't too concerned about in the Pacific.
It can reasonably be argued that the use of nuclear weapons saved hundreds of thousands of Japanese lives as well. They used the atomic bombs BECAUSE it saved lives. Do you have any idea how costly an invasion of the Japanese home islands would have been to American forces? If you are the direct descendant of someone who fought in the Pacific theater you might not be alive today if the atomic bombs hadn't been used.
Yes, you are Very Mistaken. The US asked for an Unconditional Surrender, which the Japanese were unwilling to commit to ( they refused ) so they bombed them with the first atomic bomb, They still refused so they then got the second.
FDR didn't bomb the Japanese, Truman did and it was necessary because the Japanese had a fight to the death mentality and were never going to surrender. The invasion of Japan using conventional forces would have cost too many American and allied lives. It needed to be ended quickly and the atomic bomb was the only way.

One of the best writers on World War II was Hanson Baldwin, who covered the war for The New York Times. After the war he wrote a book entitled Great Mistakes of the War, which was published in 1949. Baldwin says the greatest mistake made was the unconditional surrender policy of Roosevelt. He states that the policy "probably discouraged the opposition to Hitler" and adds that it "probably lengthened the war, cost us lives and helped to lead to the present abortive peace." Baldwin then points out that it also had a detrimental effect in the war against Japan. The Japanese had indicated they were willing to surrender if the unconditional surrender policy was changed so as to allow them to keep their Emperor but President Roosevelt ignored the offer in January of 1945. After Roosevelts death, President Truman stated he was going to continue the unconditional surrender policy and rejected the offer in July, 1945. The war continued and Truman ordered the atomic bombs to be dropped in August of 1945 and the surrender followed in September. The Japanese were allowed to keep their Emperor after the war, and so in the end, the unconditional surrender policy was dropped as to Japan, but only after they were bombed with two atomic bombs. (See The Decision to Drop the Atomic Bomb by Dennis D. Wainstock and The Decision to Use the Atomic Bomb by Gar Alperovitz.)
lol. I remember posting that before and it blew people away. Nobody knew if I was joking or serious, and I'm not gonna tell :whiste:FDR because he most closely supported something third-reich'esque as with the Boy Scouts of America compared to Hitler Youth
Does it have to be an xor? I don't see why that "or" can't be read as an "and". After all, the best jokes are dead serious on some level.lol. I remember posting that before and it blew people away. Nobody knew if I was joking or serious, and I'm not gonna tell :whiste:

I'm just pissed that the ubiquitous anti-Nazi sentiment across the world has ruined a perfectly good mustache style. You try sporting a little square on your upper lip and everybody assumes you want to kill Jews!Basically I was posting just to educate people. A lot of people have never heard anything positive about what goes on at Hitler Youth, such as camping and team building exercises. A lot of people also had never seen the picture showing how the original salute to the US flag looks like the Hitler arm thing. They're not in any way related, but the joke is trying to convince people that they are.

(omg saluting the flag is a Nazi idea! )
