which pop has less acid?

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
I've been pondering on my bad pepsi habit. I have about 2 pepsis day, more on weekends. I tend to sip on it more then drink all at once, so I can actually be on the same can for like an hour. It's more of a habit in the same sense smoking is for some people. The issue with this is it is very bad for my teeth and if I don't do something I'll probably start having issues.

I drink mostly pepsi, but does that have way more acid then say, 7up or sprite? From what I understand, its the phosforic acid that really harms the teeth, more then the sugar does.

Pepsi, Coke, and Dr. Pepper all have phosphoric acid, which is supposed to be bad for your teeth. In other words colas. Most other types of soda, including all fruit sodas, ginger ale, cream soda, root beer, and whatever else, don't have phosphoric acid.

I've been drinking Dr Pepper or Coke a 2-3 cans a day for years, my teeth are perfectly fine last time I went to the dentist. No cavities or problems ever 🙂

Who the hell cares if its "pop" or "soda" or "coke", honestly. I call it all of the above, so now I'm 100% wrong and 100% right.

Drinking through a straw helps a lot because it doesn't contact the teeth. However, you tend to drink faster with a straw than with just your mouth. So your tummy might not be so happy with you. You should start drinking juice.

On no, don't switch to Juice. Juice is far heavier with sugar than soda Go with Ice water from tap. Not the hyped bottled water that cost more than Soda and still comes from tap but has more harmful organisms. Bottled water is the biggest scam ever, right up there with monster cable and m$. Seem to be a lot of gullible sheep out there.

Because pop sounds retarded, and coke is a singular type of soda. I want to slap people who ask for a Coke and really mean Dr. Pepper or Sprite.

Would you consider a britta water filter and nalgene a scam? That's what I'm using right now, and I drink about a liter of water/day excluding meals. I love it!

Natural sugar > processed sugar. If you buy the right brands, you get mostly natural stuff. When it comes to natural sugars, your body will absorb only what it needs, no danger of overdose. Processed sugars get absorbed regardless due to their purity, thus resulting in blood level spikes and possibly diabetes.

Of course, if you go with OceanSpray crap with about as much added sugar as Soda, then yeah, you're right.

Once for some reason my tap water had a yellowish tinge to it. Ran it through my Pur tap filter, no yellowish tinge. It's not a scam.

He said "bottled water" not "filtered water."

Bottled water: Really expensive per gallon.
Filtered water from the tap: Still insanely cheap.

Water: Piped to your house. Nope, not good enough.
We need to have it delivered to a store, by a truck that burns oil derivatives, packaged in containers which are also made of oil derivatives. Then we drive vehicles that also run on oil derivatives, in order to get to the store, so that we can pay high prices for water.

😕

My understanding is that dentists believe "dark" sodas like colas, root beers, etc, are generally "less bad" for your teeth than "clear" options like Sprite, 7-Up, or Mountain Dew that contain lots of citric acid.

Bullshit.

The body absorbs all sugars, no matter if it's a processed sugar or "natural" sugar. And what's a "natural" sugar anyway? All sugar is from plants....some is just processed to be more concentrated.

Taking what you say, "natural" sugars are eliminated how? In your urine? Just an FYI....there should be NO sugars in your urine at all.....the kidneys should never see sugar escape the Loop of Henle.........sugar in your urine is a sure sign that you do have diabetes.

The terms "soda", "pop", and "coke" can, depending on location, refer to a generalization or conversely a specific item.

"Soft drink" is the term you're looking for.

So you name something after the sound it makes when you open the can instead? 😛

Brita water filer a scam? - no
Nalgene a scam - yes.

Edit, but neither of these relate to my post, the first is a filter - I filter my water. Nalgene is just an over priced bottle manufacturer. Neither sells bottled water.
