Which PDA to buy?

I need a PDA.

My options are:
sony palm's the 615 model
Magnavox Maestro Pocket pc
Palm m505 ($220) at compusa
Handspring Treo with phone - Love the sizy and all, but wanted color, and the color model is like $600 when it comes out
Toshiba slim pocket pc

Things I wanted, so it also makes selection easier.
CF capability(CF, and IBM HD's are best for storage/money)
Color
Multimedia (mp3, movies(avi/quicktime etc..))
HTML/flash capable
Internet capability to check emails on the go
stuff like that.

Palm is universal, and easy to use, but i think i really like the pocketpc better.
The thing is I don't know if i should wait for the xscale400mhz pockets pc's, or buy one now. Even thought I need it asap.

I'm curious about good PDA's as well. Any recommendations? Consider this a bump, too. 🙂

What's your budget?
Do you prefer the Palm or PocketPC platform?
Do you want color or grayscale (cheaper)?
What do you plan on doing with your PDA?

I have one. It kicks so much ass it's not even funny. The camera makes it worth its weight in gold.

No shizzle! I Keep trying to ask you questions aboot it but you never reply! 🙁

Why not the iPaq? It has the best screen IMO in the PDA world...

also in case you dont know, the Handspring Treo color no phone version will be coming out soon... basically looks exactly the same as the current Treo without the phone but with a color screen... much cheaper though... you might wanna wait for that one...

Ever seen the NR70V?

Hey LordMaul, YGPM.. PM me with whatever questions you got or post em here and I'll reply when I get back from lunch. Hasta.

If you really want to have a bit of fun, get the Maestro. You can watch videos if you re-encode the in DivX.

The Palm M505 is cool for carrying around because it's thin.

I prefer Palm with a nice color screen. I'm really looking to get the best PDA you can buy. Money is not really an issue.

I like the Sony Clie PEG-N770C, though.

I'm a big PocketPC guy, so I'd recommend the Maestro. It's a great machine for the price, but if you can wait until some of the new XSCALEs come out, you may see bigger price drops in some of the current higher-end units. If you want to learn a lot about PDAs, go over to brighthand.com. (And while you're at it, check out my PDA section, hint hint!!!!) |
