Which Palm is best to get?

Looking for advise as to which Palm to get. My 3 choices are IIIx,Vx,or VxII. Any advise would be welcome. Please state why you'd choose one over the other. I know the VxII can be had for $170 and the Vx seems to be more so I am considering buying used cause I would like stay under the $170 mark.

it really depends on what features you need... state what u need and what u dont need and chooose from there. ie, u may not need internet.. =)

The IIIx is the only thing you're getting under $170.

Might have been a typo, but they no longer sell the IIIx; this has been replaced by the IIIxe and now the m105. Anyway, I started out with the IIIxe and loved it, but didn't like having to buy batteries all the time. I then upgraded to the Vx b/c of the rechargeable internal battery (and it looks cool). I now have a Sony Clie, which is pretty much the same as the Vx but has a memory stick slot. I got a good deal on the Clie, which was why I got it, but it's pretty cool. They have a new one coming out at the end of the month that has an MP3 player built in, in addition to a high-resolution color screen.

Unless you need the wireless capability, don't get a VIIx unless you really want to be able to browse the net, or you have cash to spend, or you want to pay $50/month for the wireless service. With any of the other Palms, you can use a modem with infrared, or a data cable, and go on the net.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I know that certain models have been or are being discontinued that is why I am also considering going used on those. I figure I should be able to pick one up from somebody for a resonable price.

Inguyen: the reason I want one is cause I don't have one but I don't want to spend alot for one.

I see that Staples has the IIIxe for 149 ...maybe that's the best solution. How does the m105 compare. Is it much better?

I was thinking that I may be able to pick up a used Vx for a decent price and that it might be better to do that then to get a IIIxe or m105. What are your thoughts.

I do want to have internet capablity but I don't want to pay for wireless.

III series are the no-frills workhorses.

V series are slim and have a rechargeable battery.

VII series is wireless.

From your choices I definitely would go with Vx. It is slim, it has rechargable battery and it is a bit faster than IIIxe and VII. I had Vx model myself before I upgraded to M505, and it served me very well.
