Which P8P67 to buy? Or not at all?

I'd like to build myself a new box ASAP, but I'm not sure which to buy. I've heard the Asus P67 boards are nice, but I'm not sure which one is the most cost-effective. There's the P8P67LE, P8P67 B3, and P8P67 Pro. I'd like to be able to overclock, but I don't need anything fancy - no SLI or other such craziness.
 
The P8P67 Pro is the one I would get value and feature wise (but the regular one is good too). The Pro should run about $190 when they come back in stock. I think the standard ones are around $150-160 (someone will correct me if I'm wrong).
 
P8P67 Pro was cheaper than P8P67 base after the combo discount on Newegg when I got it with the 2500k. The advantage pointed out by my coworker was that the Intel LAN on board is easily configurable with VMware as opposed to the other one.
 
I built a P8P67 Pro system for my brother. I was using that to build for me too, however one of my two boards was DOA with some BS cpu LCD error that I couldn't fix. The other board worked pretty flawlessly though.

The other option is what I'm using now is the MSI P67A-GD65. Just got that from Newegg and the BIOS was updated and I haven't had any issues. The system setup a lot smoother than the ASUS one did too.

Both systems though work really well and overclock well. I'm only running the ASUS one at 4.4ghz and the MSI one at 4.5ghz and haven't had any issues. Both builds using 16gigs of RAM at 1600 and no problems there either.
 
back in january Microcenter had 1155 combo deals and if you got P8P67-regular deal the motherboard turned out to be only 130$ after tax in store, cant get better than that i think
 
Don't get the LE. It doesn't have BIOS/UEFI overclocking.

Standard does not support SLI but does support x16/x4 Crossfire. It uses a Realtek NIC.

Pro does x8/x8 and supports both SLI and Crossfire. It uses an Intel NIC.

I got the standard for my wife's rig. Have yet to definitively hear from Micro Center on swapping it out for the newer version. Her board does have a NIC glitch - will often mysteriously just claim the network cable was unplugged, so I'm now using a PCIe NIC in it. Looking forward to a replacement board that hopefully has a working NIC.

I got the MSI p67a-gd65 for like 170. I put it together and pushd a button and it OCed my machine to 4.2. I set up raid in seconds. If you like things that are to easy go for the MSI. The bios is so easy its retarded.


I somehow feel disappointed I didnt have to fight to get anything to work.
 
So how's that work? The P67 supports both, but the manufacturer can disable one or the other?

Two things SLI needs. #1 is NVIDIA support, which costs a few bucks per motherboard. #2 is at least PCIe x8 electrical slots. If it is Tri SLI, third slot can be x4. At least, that's how I understand it from the history of motherboards with SLI.
