Which OS should i get?

Gamer here using 1Ghz Athlon T-Birfd w/ Geforce 2 GTS,Turtle Beach Santa Cruz,256 MB RAM,

Windows 98 SE Drives me completely insane,what OS is highest recommended for gaming or that wont have any compatibility issues with my hardware ETC.

unfortunately, Win98SE is , IMHO, the best OS going for a gamer. It the most stable for games. XP isn't there yet as far as driver support goes being a new OS, and ME was a joke.

Contrary to gregor7777, I'd recommend Windows XP. I have a 1.2 GHz. Tbird with 512MB RAM, a Kyro II, and a Santa Cruz and I haven't encountered any problems running any games. Granted, the frame rates may be a little bit (3-5% for me) lower, but who cares so long as your system is stable; and Windows XP is definitely more stable than 98SE. So I would give Windows XP (either Home or Professional, depending on your needs) a try and see for yourself.

I agree with gregor7777, Win98SE is the best OS I have used for gaming. What kind of issues are you having with your hardware & Win98SE?
