WHICH ONE!?

Hey all,

I've got these two systems to decide on and I can get them for the same price, so which looks better?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
MSI K8N Neo-FSR
Kingston 1G PC-3200
Western Digital 40GB Hard Drive JB
ASUS V9999GT/TD

or

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 939 Pin
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
Kingston (2)512MB PC-3200
Western Digital 40GB Hard Drive JB
MSI NX6600GT

Its really a toss up but I would go with the 939 setup

yeh, it's newer tech, and looks better for upgrading in the future.. two 6600 GTs would definatly beat one 6800 GT with that set up right?

2nd one. more upgradablity. Also, I would reccommend a larger HD

Well I would take 2 sticks over one, but thats just me. The video cards.... #1 Will be faster, but it depends if it's a 128 or 256 also, the Asus 128 6800GT is not a true 6800GT it runs at 700Mhz memory instead of 1000Mhz, the 256 runs at full speed. However even at 350/700 I still think it might be faster then a 6600GT. It uses standard DDR instead of GDDR3.

So remember #1 is really not a true 6800GT. So I would go #2 as it is a 939.

From what I have read 2 6600GT's are just a little slower than 1 6800GT in the same setup. 2 6600GTs would beat that 6800GT you linked because it is not a true 6800

yeh I was origianly going with the second one, I just tried thato ther setup. I thought I heard something about ASUS making a shity 6800 line up somewhere...

I also like the option of going sli in the future...

i would get the new gigabyte 6600 with dual gpus. they are offering a deal if you buy that and their motherboard. the dual gpu 6600 beats an x850xt PE and is MUCH MUCH cheaper. imagine two dual gpu 6600's DROOL!. or even two dual 6800 ultras omg...imagine the power and cooling you would needd!

it doesn't bet the x850xt pt... heh maybe in doom 3 but i dont care about that and dual 6800 ultras isn't much better than the x850xt pt (and it certainly isn't worth that huge cost diffrence..)

get the secound one but DONT get that MSI card!!! read the anandtech review of the 6600gts to find out why. and they recommend a leadtek
