which one of these Lcds ?

Well I bought the viewsonic one and so far its been cool. Although I wish they had also provided HDMI cable besides VGA and DVI. It nicely keeps the aspect ratio perfect at 1280x1024 with black side bars. Does it automatically for any non native resolution.
 
Although it's too late I would have went with the Dell over the choices you had. The Viewsonic on paper looks like it's based on a older panel from maybe a year or two ago. The Samsung while seeming has about the same specs(I skimmed it) as the Dell has a slightly smaller screen real estate. That and Dell has been shown to have pretty good customer service when it comes to their monitors.
 
I just bought a dell 2709w with the s-pva panel. I wanted ips but I couldn't justify the price difference between this and the newer model.
