Which one loads up faster?

Out of IE and Firefox, which one opens faster right after Your PC finishes Loading up. Be honest and do not be blinded by your love towards a specific browser.

I Recently bought a new comp and and installed Firefox and it seems to take longer loading up, slower web browsing and the pictures load up slower. I dont care that its because its supposed to be more secure which is a myth because according to the article below it isnt as secure as you alll think.

I have yet to try some like Opera and maybe this article will help me choose.

Note: For those of you that do not use either one and will probrably post things like : EWW NEITHER I USE OPERA FTW! Nobody cares..this is a poll about FF and IE only.

IE because MSHTML and crap are loaded with explorer so most of it's already been paged in.

And that Myths page is crap.

Since this is going to attract eleventy beelion FireFox users, a PSA for them: time to update to 1.5.0.2 to address some highly-critical security issues in 1.5.0.1.

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled thread.

IE because it's tied in with Explorer; meaning, it's pretty much always open.

So indeed, IE may in fact take longer to load were it a standalone app. But given the way Windows is done, the world may never know.

Yea, Mozilla had (has?) a tool that would load it into memory on startup so you would have the same speed startup as IE but it never got ported to FF AFAIK.

pretty much. They would have to be fanboys to even think that it loads up faster. On a cold boot, it takes about 5 seconds or so for firefox to pop up. IE is nearly immediate

It is kinda sad to see people believe something that's obviously not true, but it's not like application startup speed is any real indication of which is better. A 5s startup is an extremely small price to pay for all of the benefits that it has over IE.

The only benefit IE has IMO is a faster startup. After the startup, firefox still is faster in loading pictures and all that for me. Since I'm not that impatient, I'll just wait till it starts and then browse with a clear mind.
