LOL... WOWing a bit much? But to put in perspective, you can't mine adamantites until you're way pass lvl 60, so I'd say adamantium is better. Besides, it sells for more in the Auction House.

Adamant and similar words are used to refer to any especially hard substance, whether composed of diamond, some other gemstone, or some type of metal. Both adamant and diamond derive from the Greek word adaµa? (adamas), meaning "untameable". The word adamant is comparable to the word brimstone, an archaic word for sulphur. Adamantite and adamantium (a metallic name derived from the Neo-Latin ending -ium) are also common variants.

Throughout ancient history, "adamantine" referred to anything that was made of a very hard material. Virgil describes Tartarus as having a screeching gate protected by columns of solid adamantine (Aeneid book VI). Later, by the Middle Ages, the term came to refer to diamond, as it was the hardest material then known. It was in the Middle Ages, too, that adamantine hardness and the lodestone's magnetic properties became confused and combined.

Since diamond is now used exclusively for the hardest gemstone, the increasingly archaic "adamant" ? and its adjectival form "adamantine" ? has a mostly poetic or figurative use. In that capacity, the name is frequently used in popular media and fiction to refer to a very hard substance.

Adamant as an adjective means resistant to reason, determined or inflexible.

In Wow, Adamantite requires higher mining and makes way better items than Mithril. Either way you are both dorks to the Nth degree.

Mithril is a good medium-priced quality metal. In a lot of mmorpg's that is. If we're talking cost/performance mithril wins :laugh:

Neither of us plays WoW, it's more like Marvel Comics Adamantium vs Lord of the Rings Mithril.

This is a classically hilarious scenario.
Much like the alltel commercial about calling circles.

never played WoW, but in Oblivion, mithril is not too high on the defense level chart, so I'd probably go with Adamantium.

But wouldn't Adamantium qualify as Heavy Armor? (Mithril is Light Armor)

shouldn't you be looking at pr0n or something instead of worrying about what make-believe metal is more resistant?

Adamantium = Very sturdy
Mithril = Less sturdy, but extremely lightweight.

No, you da foo! Mithril and Adamantium are also metals in WOW, damn nub. Mithril can be mined at lower level and is used to make armor. Adamantium is used use to make MO BETTER ARMOR with higher resistance.
