The KT266 is a bit faster - but not that much. I personally would go for the AMD 761 because of stability. Why not go for the KT333? THe cost difference is minimal, and your future upgradability will be better.

KT266A is faster, and they are both equally as stable for the normal person... maybe a few minutes downtime difference in a freaking year... the KT266 is NOT unstable, and the AMD 760 is NOT alot more stable at all.. we're talking small small difference... i do know the 760 is quite a good rock solid platform, but the 266A is too.

If I were to buy one right now... KT266 hands down, no questions asked.

Make sure you get the kt266a chipset. The regular kt266 is slower. I would download the manual of any board you're thinking of buying and check the "frequency/voltage control" section if you overclock for available adjustments.

I did not say "a lot." I just stated the fact that it is more stable. Take two deep breaths and step away from the keyboard.

It does come down to personal preference, and I would suggest dropping a few more $$$ for a KT333.
