which of these two older machines?

donating a system to a 12 year old for Christmas. case, hard drive, dvd, power supply, video card are all identical,

AMD x2 4400+ (2.3ghz) with 8gb of ram

or

c2d e7500 (2.93ghz) with 4gb ram

the amd system has 4 ram slots and I can put 2gb in each slot, the intel system has only 2 slots for 4gb ram total. video card in the system will be a 512mb NVidia 210 card, atleast its better than onboard.

my question which will be better, the amd with 8gb ram or the c2d with 4gb ram and faster processor?

I lean towards the c2d since it's about 75% faster according to Bench, and 4 GB is fine for most everything except modern 3D games, which the 210 won't be great for anyway.

Do both have quiet heatsink/fans or is one noisier?
