Statistically, most peeps on this forum have AMD processors and ASUS mb's. I have a gigabyte GA-7vaxp Ultra which has all the bells and whistles, inlcuding SATA and raid configurations and firewire/usb 2.0. MOtherboards.org calls it the best board out there.

Integrated graphics scare me. I'm sure it might be fine but why not drop $60-80 on a decent 128 mb AGP card in case the guy wants to fire up some 3d or get's a bootleg copy of maya? The cost is nominal and the output is soooo much better. Your hard disk choices are very good, unless you want to invest in a pair of raptors (SATA), either of the two you list will do very well in that system. I've heard differing opinions about the corsair ram and despite having it myself, I'm probably switching to some of the more popular offbrands for the next build.

Finally, the Barton 2500 is your best buy and if you have more $$ to play with, increase your ram accordingly.

Hope this helps,

Gravity

At least go SATA with hardware raid. Or, go all out for the SCSI for the disk performance.

If it's going to be a database server and running SAP, hardware RAID would be a requirement, in my book.
