Which of these speaker systems should I get?

Considering budget limitations, I've narrowed my choices of speaker systems to the Creative Inspire 5300 and the Logitech Z-540. In your opinion, which one should I go for? If it makes any difference, I have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 card.

thanks,
don

if you have the chance..go to a sotre and listen to both
bring some music that you listen to and try to get them to let you use it to try them out
speakers are a very subjective buy, and what you want depends a lot on what you listen to and how you like it to sound
some like big boomy bas and others like a more balanced sound
try to pull up a couple reviews of each on google, but if you can listen to them yourself before you buy anything

If you have money to blow..........its a simple answer............ditch that creative set and get the Klipsch ProMedia 4.1/5.1...........you won't be dissapointed.............If your a broke college student like I am...........you have only one choice.......Logitech 560Z which to me sounds better than the 4.1's and at $136 @ newegg.com how can you go wrong?😀

BTW I use to have the SB LIVE 5.1 also.............sounds very good............but after upgrading to Santa Cruz...........WoW.😉 Im in a concert!

Budgets are made to be broken! I think speakers are such an integral part of the experience, especially if you listen to music or game. I think you should keep them on par w/ your system and needs. I've never heard the Z-540's, however the Z-560's absolutely rock. For about $140 shipped from the following site I need to give them my vote. Sorry if you are STRICTLY on this budget...

Z-560's $112 + Tax & Shipping

...otherwise do what I do. Think about how easy it is to spend $100 for a good night of food & or just drinking w/ friends. Then rationalize that if you spent that on those few hours of enjoyment, think of the HUNDREDS or even THOUSANDS of hours of enjoyment you'll get out of the speakers...easier choice then ;-)

Good luck

WOW! Thanks for the link, spartacuskzm! I've been looking all over for a decent store (EMS computing had lowest price on pricegrabber/pricewatch, but lately service has been extremely bad) for the same prices. I'm ordering the Z560s, plus my monitor (19" Viewsonic G90FB) through them. The monitor's shipping, ~$40 elsewhere, is free! Unbelievable.

Cool - glad it helped somebody! I told my friend about them the other week (he heard my Z-560's and had to get them) and he seems quite happy. Enjoy the new setup.
