Which of these Soundcards would you choose?... pretty urgent... ;-)

I'm going to buy a sound card today... i was going for the Creative SoundBlaster Player 5.1 PCI Retail, but i noticed a similiar priced one... the Video Logic Sonic Fury (6 Ch), which apparently does dsp and 6 channels etc etc.... do you think i should go for the video logic sonic fury or the Soundblaster... and why?...

I would choose the SB, i think it has AC3 capab. which kicks with DVD.

I'd go with the Live because it sounds great, uses fewer resources in games, and is the defacto standard.

I would choose nither...
The new range of Philips cards are just as good, if not slightly better. They cost around $99. Look at www.philipsusa.com for more info. The card does EAX 1, 2, A3D, I3DLevel2, 5.1 sound and has S/PDIF IN and OUT.

Stick with the Live- Audio is good, compatibility is good, driver support is good.

I'd go with the SB Live, personally. Compatibility is good if you're into other OSes, and I don't personally know of any software that will do output to 6 channels anyway.

Rendus, the Sonic Fury does do 6 channel software decoding
