Which of these Power Supplies would you buy?

I'd really appreciate your help here, as I know which brand is a rock solid 500 watt PSU...but I also want to try and save some money...but not at the cost of stability and clean power.

So here are the 2 I am looking at.

Antec True550 @ $99 + s/h

Thermaltake Silent Purepower 560 @ $105 shipped

Almost final decision

Well I am going with the Thermaltake unless someone knows that their power supplies are just flat out bad...because it hasa better package for me than the Antec does.
 
If you're trying to save money, you could get a lower watt PSU like a True430 or even 380. My system runs perfectly on a True330.
 
Despite the fact that everyone recommended Antec lol...I went with Thermaltake's PSU.

I have read that Thermaltake makes darn good PSUs to start...and this one is also a very nice and stable PSU, in addition to the fact that they have every cable coming out of the PSU housing wrapped in sleeving which makes things neater 🙂.

So I will post back here with my thoughts on the Thermaltake when I get it up and running.
 
After my Enermax 365P-VE (350W) finally ran out of steam, I purchased this:

Fortron 530

IMHO it's the best price/perf unit available. Very quiet , solid rails and has adjustable pots, along with SATA drive power connector.
Check out this thread, great info and these guys really push thier ps with heavy duty OCing, and cooling.

Seriously has anyone heard anything bad in particular to Thermaltake PSUs, because if not they just offer a nicer package for me than Antec does.

Yes, actually... if any brand ever has been over-rated to death, it's Enermax.. I'd never ever put one of those in my own PC.
 
I had one in my last machine that was prebuilt for me...before I started building my own stuff...and honestly its worked really well. Only reason I wouldn't buy it for my own machines is that they are way more than Antec PSUs and produce similiar quality power. However, I don't think that means they suck...they are just pricey.
 
If this is for the rig in your sig you don't need that big of a power supply.

However I would go with the Antec.

I'd go ThermalTake in the reviews it looks awsome I would go with the 480 watt one in the anandtech review though. Chop $30 off the price too. Though the the Antec True control looks nice too.
 
Cool thanks for your opinions guys, and the reason I am getting such a large PSU is because I dont want to have to buy another PSU until I switch case formats and go BTX in a few years...like I am forced to do now.

And like I said I will post on my thoughts of the Thermaltake PSU when I get it 🙂.
