The Diamond Stealth Video VRAM was a good card for its time and had hardware assisted MPEG playback (standard on graphics cards now but this was at a time of VideoCD's not DVD's so I dont know how it will do now).
The 2D on the Virge VX was also not bad, but you may want to choose it simply because it has better DirectX support in the fact that it has some Direct3D support.
In all honesty the Virge is probably the better one to go for as it has a slightly longer future ahead of it and there is wide OS support for it.
