Out of those choices, I'd say #3. Otherwise, you could wait for this Arima ODM notebook to surface in retail. The lower 35W thermal output will get your battery life on par with the Pentium M, and I'm sure someone will offer it with the X700.

Stay away from #2, P4's suck for gaming and it'll run extremely hot. I would have to pic the first one, even tho the link doesn't work I know which one you are referring to. That 6600 GPU will be great for current games and handle future ones a LOT better than a 9700.

But iv read somewhere that the 6600 go is comparable to the 6600 destop( not the GT) and then the 6600 is not as good as the 9700 pro.

can u confirm?

The 6600 would be better for some games, but until someone couples it with an Athlon64, I'd say stick with #3 if you must get a laptop now.

I would have said the Acer as well, but I've been reading reports of some rather dissatisfied customers who've been receiving DOA's with quite a hassle from Acer, who supposedly doesn't allow resellers to replace defective units.

p-m at 1.6 (you should be able to up fsb to 133, giving you 16*133, or 2118mhz) >a64, in performance and in battery life (and heat too)
6600go>9700mobile i think

i'm too lazy to look for other specs lol
