The XP-M beats the P4-M in battery life.....

By the way, I found this toy :) I wonder if anyone has heard about the company, but the spec are impressive to say the least: Athlon XP 2400+ (2500 available), radeon 9000, pc2700 and kt333...... not bad for a lappy!!

I checked out the link and it looks pretty good. It is from a trusted company... but it doesnt look on the 6+ pound side... Something that I am trying to stay away from.

I'm not really sure how stringent you are on the <$1500 price range, but the IBM T-40 model# 237358U is $2k, and i'm not sure if IBM still has that 10% discount. You won't find the model on the site but if u call them u can order it. It's just a Pentium-M 1.3 ghz with the 1400x1050 SXGA screen (which right now seems only avail on the t40p).

then again u can always try the dells. That MicroNote page doesn't indicate how heavy the laptop is.

Patsun123 is right, the micronote doesn't indicate how heavy it is..... I am assuming 3 kg (7.5 pounds). On the heavy side

I found out after scrounging around on the MicroNote sight..that their "portable and light" notebooks is 5.5 the lightest and they start at $2000 for the base model.
